Description

This is a hexagonal slinky to print as a fidget toy, because as we all know: hexagons are bestagons. If you like this and would like other shapes, check out my collection here! Feel free to also leave a comment or send me a message if you have ideas for other shapes to make a slinky in!

Please make sure to use a filament for which you have calibrated the flow rate, as overextrusion can lead to the part not being separable!

There are 5 lengths available: 30mm, 60mm, 100mm, 150mm, 200mm.
If you want to make it larger or smaller I recommend only scaling the X and Y axes, as the Z should be fixed to make sure it works when printed.

Please disregard the "Floating Cantilever warnings that Bambu Studio gives you, the model needs to be printed without supports to make sure it can separate.

After the model is printed you will need to pull the spiral apart, you might need to use a knife to get the separation started, as shown in this image:

i might have a question now. do you might have an idea what i did wrong? i used the 60 mm and scaled the x and y axis to the half. but now its stuck together and i cant separate the layers. At least i can use it as a penholder ;)

Hi, it's correct that the layers are slightly stuck together, otherwise it wouldn't print. You need to use a knife to (carefully) start the separation and then either cut in a spiral to separate all the layers or pull it apart.

they are not slightly stuck together. they are completely stuck together, there is just a nut.
