Description

This fishing lure holder allows you to leave you lures attached while safely covering the hooks and protecting them and you during transit.

Simply place your lure inside the body and use the slit in the lid to go over your fishing line then screw shut. Super handy for 2 part rods as you can fold them down without removing your lure making it easier to store in the car or walk through trees and scrub.

Can hold two lures so you can keep a spare with you.

4 plates are provided with the default print profile.

  • Lid and Body Single Color - The basic version
  • Body only - Just the body to print separately if using the fish head lid
  • Lid with Fish - Experimental print which adds a fish image to the first layer.
  • Body only but a shorter body

Update:  Added a shorter version at the same diameter for smaller lures.

Update2: Added a new print profile with a much smaller version of the lure holder, good for fly fishing or jigging lures.

Hi there, just wanted to share some praise for your file since I missed the scoring window (I always forget it comes up so fast) I very much enjoyed your print. You designed it to perfectly for those that do not have multiple if any at all AMS systems. I was able to do this after going through the G-Code and see where the filament change would be and watching it like a hawk waiting for it to get to the end of the main color. Instead of it going to the back to wipe as if it had just changed, it goes right to the purge tower and that is exactly when I paused it all 3 times I made it. After the black is done you hear all of the fans ramp up and you know you are headed to your 2nd layer. PAUSE again and go through the menu to the filament change feature and go through it. Once that is done hit play again and it makes another layer on the primer tower. Then right back to work for the rest of it. BRAVO FRIEND I have made 2 with gradient filaments with black for the fish, and a solid blue with black for the fish. I will have to figure out how you did that on the build plate the way it showed up on a windows computer from the Maker Word website. I would consider myself in the sophomore stage of 3D printing and design work, not a beginner for sure but also not nearly as knowledgeable as I can be down the road. So I hope others take the time to read this and have a little bit of help with color changes on a machine with no AMS system. It is possible! I have the proof! I will add a picture of all 3 next to each other. The blue one has a dual extrusion white and black filament so that is why you see specks of white in the black. I made these for my fishing friends and will be gifting them to all of my other fishing friends throughout the year if they like mine. Thanks again for a simple design but with a flare for me to teach myself something on. That may have been the 1st color change on a none AMS unit, but it surely won't be the last. #HappyPrinting.

Thank you so much for the feedback! Ill post multiple replies so I can match the images to text. You can still rate the print after that window closes by using the Makerworld website, just look at your profile and select ratings. Ratings are really appreciated as it helps me generate more points for filament purchases.

The fish was added by importing an svg image into the slicer and selecting a different filament for it. To do this right click on the model, "Add modifier" -> "Load" and select an svg then scale/move it into place. It takes a bit of trial and error getting the scaling right so it only prints on the first later. I have another example you can look at here https://makerworld.com/en/models/93699#profileId-100089 You can also force the slicer to choose which filament to print first, the main fill or the line color by selecting the 'nut' icon on the side of the build plate. I did a quite a bit of experimenting with doing line first or fill and they give a different result so its worth having a play with that. Also make sure you use the Arachne wall generator so it creates variable width lines for your image.

Well done on doing this without an AMS, I had not thought about how it would work. Getting the slicer to add a pause between layers is quite easy, but I cannot see how it should be done within a layer. Ill have a play around with some slicer settings and see if a non AMS version is possible, should be able to insert a pause command. I'm surprised that it does not automatically do that actually.

fantastic print. I was able to manually change filaments with watching the first layer carefully and when it goes to the purge block, pause and switch filaments and then pause again when the dark line is done. then let it ride for the rest of it. can’t wait to use these. fishing season opens this Saturday! made one for my best friend too and she was over the moon with it! thanks for a great file!

Works great. A couple smaller sizes would be great too.

Outstanding idea. Print works great. Plate layout was perfect for those with AMS or without. Although I have AMS, I just chose to delete the other two plates and print single color. Awesome job.
