There are several desiccant hub containers shared for 3D printers with a focus for the AMS spools hub. I could not find one that held much desiccant. My design maximises the container diameter and height to allow more desiccant inside for the spool hub sizes I use.
The AMS does not restrict the height of the container to the spool width, so my larger container has a 80mm height. I also include a container about the width of the spool with a 65mm height and another with a height of 75mm.
Those working with different filament brands and even different filament types will no doubt be aware that the spool hub diameter can vary considerably. To assist with this diameter variability, I have included containers with different diameters. So, match the container diameter to your filament spool hub size.
I can fit about 120g of Silica Gel into the 75x53mm container. Hence, with four hub containers, I can fit 480g of desiccant. My previous attempt with a downloaded popular container achieved only half that mass of desiccant. More desiccant into the AMS for me means less often having to attend to the desiccant to refresh it; a big plus!
Here is my 3D design. My design may match your needs, too.
My print is made in 1.75mm Bambu PLA Silk Silver filament, with 0.2mm layer height and 15% infill on a Bambu X1 Carbon printer. Optionally set Wall Loops = 4. No print supports, rafts nor brims required.
I hope that you can find this design useful, too.
Remember to leave me some feedback or even a tip to keep me enthused to make more of these drawings.
