Description

I have a MacBook Pro (2019) which has a double USB-C connector on the left-hand side for charging and connecting to hubs. I have a nice hub with a double USB-C connector. The sad part is, I've been watching the cable droop the connector down, and I know from decades of experience that this needed strain relief.

First thing I did was, take a bunch of thin little two-layer “towers” that the X1C generates when I print bottom-logos, and stacked them up, until the cable was completely flush-level with the surface of the laptop cooler. Then I measured the thickness of the stack of “towers” and came up with this height. I'm assuming this will work for you even if you have your laptop on a table or whatever.

If you have a similar but slightly different configuration of cable, laptop and desk, and need something basically like this, first thing I'd try (because it's very basic geometry) is to stretch it in the X, Y and Z directions, to get exactly what you need.

If, however, you'd like me to create a specific version just for you, I'll need some dimensions and, of course, a picture of your unique configuration, so I can show it along with the custom model.

Hopefully I'm not the only one with a MacBook Pro (2019), and this weird double-USB plug/connector that also needs strain relief.
