Hey!â¨
Recently, I saw a medieval-style dagger with two thin blades, and I was like Oh, that makes a cool hairpin! So I made one.
This style of hairpin is known as a twist (or French) pin, and is perfect for holding up your hair in a quick updo, or adding to a hair bun as an ornament. Then you'll also have a neat tool to pull out of your hair dramatically in the face of danger, or betrayal. :D
The original size of the pin is 16 cm, but if you wanna use it as a dagger prop, you can scale it up to about 20 cm.Â
To print perfectly:
- Use a silky or metallic filament for the best metallic look (I used Bambu Silk Rosegold in my print).
- Print with 0.16 layers or lower (see the details with 0.16 layers in the last picture of the pin)
- Turn on the supports option, and preferably the outer brim (if you normally face adhesion issues).
- Use a low infill percentage, about 5 or 10%.
If you liked this model, make sure to check out my other hairpin designs, such as Death Head Moth and Demonic Orchid!
I hope you enjoy it, and happy printing! :) đĽ
