Description

Original model was not compatible with bambu's new official cable protector. So I remixed the original model to make it double sided and make it compatible with the cable protector. Another feature of this remix is you can actually double up or chain two of these on one cable for better control of how the cable coils when the heat bed moves back (reducing risk of the cable hitting a wall behind the printer).

Updates as of 2-3-2024:

  • New V6 Version includes cable tie slots. Works with both Double sided Velcro (cut to size) or standard zip ties.
  • *Reduced supports threshold angle to 35 degrees to reduce print time and support cleanup. Reduces material required by 0.3 grams to 2.07g per part.

Installation notes:

  • Deburring tool can help you get even smoother edges. Highly suggest using it for inner corners. (not required).
  • If you use two parts space them approximately 1-2 inches apart ~50mm apart, starting first with one toward the base pointed toward the back left of the printer, then the second facing upwards. This approach will give you a nice heatbed cable coil that won't hit the wall when the bed moves back.
  • If the cable - coil guides fall off you can use zip ties or double-sided Velcro to fix them to the cable, just be sure not to overtighten them. I haven't had a need to do this though, so it may be a non-issue for you.

Print Profile Notes:

Nozzle: Suggest 0.4mm nozzle for precision fit
Wall Loops: 2 wall loops on 0.4mm nozzle, 0.6mm nozzle not recommended due to decreased layer adhesion.
Layer Height: Suggest 0.16 to maximize strength and accuracy (0.16mm default)
Infill: 15% gyroid (however no infill is used in this model, except for the Bambu cord protector)
Brim and Support: Brim with normal auto supports 35 degree threshold. Normal supports produces cleaner finish then tree supports for this model.
Batch Size: For optimum layer adhesion advise printing one part at a time to keep layers hot (2-4 parts tops). For large Batches reduce fan cooling.
Material: PETG or PLA
Color: Any
Print Orientation: Print vertically as seen in .3mf file.
3d Printers: Should be printable on any printer.
Filament amount required: 2.16g per holder

Fits better (tighter) than the Bambu model. 👍

Prints and works as described. This proves useful at preventing wear and tear on the bed cable if you have limited space behind the A1.

looks like print spaghettied. make sure your filament is dry and profile is calibrated before printing these parts. try printing them on seperate plates to reduce risk of print failure as well.

New version should address that issue. Now includes slots for Zip Ties or Double Sided Velcro (Cut to size of standard zip tie). Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

I’ll give it a shot. I guess I overlooked the new version

Just added it today. Let me know if it makes a difference for you. I had the lower guide closest to the cable protector pop off before adding the ties, but after reprinting the new version and using some double sided velcro, no issues so far.

They print well and fit great. But my printer popped them right off. The place i needed to add it probably wasn't the best choice.

Sorry to hear it, remodeled and uploaded a new version that now includes cable tie slots to prevent this issue. Works with Zip Ties or Double Sided Velcro (cut to size of a zip tie).
