Description

Since I would like have the chance to swap different designs with a single lightbox, I modeled this engineered frame.

I also created a container for the plates design that also functions as a riser for the lightbox itself.

Remember to check out my collection of swappable front plates for new designs.

Attention: during the printing turn off completely the auxiliary fan to avoid warping of the model.

It's really sturdy, easy to print without supports and easy to assemble.

It features (see model images for details):

  • Press-fit back cover with holes for wall mount and cutouts for cable management.
  • Holes caps for hiding wall mount holes when non used.
  • Internal indentation for led strip alignment. Placing the led around th walls, the light turns to be really soft with no visible spots.
  • Removable press-fit front cover for lightbox design change.

I lit the box with a USB powered 5V RGB led strip and connected to the P1S led in order to control it by the printer system.

Are these parts just supposed to snap together after printing? The front and back plate on the one I printed is a little loose, wondering if I have to fix my printer settings? Printed on an A1

theoretically yes. if you rotate the frame the front and back should be firm enough that they don't come apart. without having to reprint, you can use paper tape to create the minimum thickness to decrease clearance. I've updated the design the day after I've uploaded it. just to be sure: can you post a picture of the front cover?
