Description

This is the latest version of my AMS saver after bambu asked me to take down my old models. Apparently some people managed to damage the feeder leds with some of the previous models. This version mounts to the top of the feeder unit using double sided sticky tape so there is absolutely no chance of causing any damage to your AMS unit. I used the clear 1mm thick sticky tape off Temu on mine and they are stuck very well. I've been using 100mm ptfe tube with no issues, if you seem to get loading issues try 85mm. The ID of the ptfe hole is 4.2mm but because of the print orientation it can still be tight, i run an allen key through it along the top edge to smooth the layers a bit. You can play with flow rate a bit as well if too tight

works best with my filament guides, the ones in the pictures i'm still testing but the originals work great

PTFE tubes are way too long, try this file to help cut them to the right length https://makerworld.com/en/models/102568#profileId-109242

Your PTFE is WAY too long, should be 100mm max length. The hole is definitely snug but if you ream it out too much it will make it too loose

@madizmo is the ptfe supposed to go all the way down to the grey filament hole? Is that supposed to help reduce wear on that part too? Conflicting reports of how the PTFE is supposed to be mounted, so I wanted to check with you. Thanks for all your time and effort that you put into these models for us to enjoy.

Has anyone noticed their filament grinding away the ends to the PTFE tube. I noticed some white dust particles around the grey intake on the ams and some flakes on the filament. It appears that some filament that has rough textures will grind away at the PTFE tubes quite a lot. I know PTFE is a consumable but is there any recommendation to help limit this? Or any more durable brand of PTFE tube?

Do you have the tube running right down to the feeder inlet? If you don't this is quite possible to happen. Also try and avoid running any abrasive or rough filaments through the AMS as this it what it will do to the internal PTFE tubes inside the AMS too

Capricorn tube is thicker walled premium ptfe with a smaller ID but the same OD.

Just wanted to push your awesome Model. I am also using your old ones and nothing broke or anything! Thanks for uploading a new version, got asked where I got mine several times and needed to say that you were forced to put it down :( Now I can give them a propper link again :) Also linked your v5 in my filament guide and cleaner which was related to your v4 version!

Thanks for the feedback! Mine have been running thousands of hours on 4 machines with no more issues and no wear on the feeder inlets either :)

This is an amazing design! It includes a fully working hinge mechanism that prints in place with no assembly required. I took it off the plate and It had a working mechanism, which I did not expect. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned this in a review. Thanks for creating this and sharing it. I tried to show the various angles of the hinge in my photos.
