Description

This is my take on a back up lid lock design for packout model 48-22-8430. It is designed to press fit into the side of the handle unlike other designs that need a screw and a hole drilled through the handle so that way you can use it full time or if you just want to test it and see if you like it you can without drilling permanent holes in your handle. It's purpose is to be used as a backup latch to keep the lid from opening up and spilling everything inside in case you forget to close the factory latches.

I would recommend removing the handle to install these as they are a very tight fit. Removing the handle is easy, just use a flat head screw driver to push the metal pins towards the inside and use pliers or vice grips to pull the pins out. I would also recommend a rubber mallet or some type of hammer to gently tap these all the way in. I have also added holes in the sides so you can put a long screwdriver or other long object through the hole in the handle to remove these if you want to take them off.
