Description

I wanted to add a HEPA filter to my auxiliary fan but did not want to take apart the fan to install magnets. I also had extra filters from the ones I installed on the chamber fan and wanted to use the same filters for both locations. I created a filter cover that magnetically attaches to the screws that hold the fan in place. I only have two screws holding my fan secure, the third location did not have a metal screw. I printed this in ABS for durability. I did not realize until after making this that the auxiliary fan doesn't run when I am printing ABS, which is what I needed it for. So I have been turning on the chamber fan at 20% when I print ABS to filter the air instead. I downloaded one that fits on top of the charcoal filter.

To install the HEPA filters, I cut off the ribbon tabs and fit two of them into the open spot. Here is a link for the filters I used:

I also used two magnets in each hole so they are strong enough to hold this in place. The magnet holes are designed a bit small so you can friction fit the magnets in place. Here are the magnets:

It's been working well so far allowing enough space for the bed to move up and down.

There was an accident today. The hot bed scratched the filter shell and made a loud noise. Fortunately, the auxiliary fan was not damaged. Can you make the model thinner? Now after installing the filter housing, there is almost no gap between the shell and the hot bed, which is very dangerous.

I tried to make it as thin as possible and still fit the filter, I don't think there is any room to make it thinner. May I ask if the magnets came off the screws by any chance causing it to scratch the bed? I had put two magnets in each hole to help with the strength of the adhesion in hopes of preventing that. I have not personally had this issue since install but was worried that this may be an issue. Let me know, thanks!

printed perfect in ABS I had to put 4x 6x2mm magnets on esch hole to make it perfect, one magnet stick out and I glued it thanks that’s exactly what I needed I was going to maike one!

Oh wow thank you! That is super elegant, can have BOTH carbon and HEPA in one. I was thinking that I would have to choose one or go with a half-size carbon filter casing.

Other Issues:Habe kein Vertrauen , das es trotz Magneten nicht hält. Hätte man vielleicht bis zum ende des Ventilators verlängern sollen. Sonnst gute Idee. Danke
