I make a lot of the same parts repeatedly and got tired of switching out 1Kg spools, multiple times per day. I decided to buy a large, 5Kg spool from Polymaker but quickly realized I had nothing to hold it. I looked online, but didnt find any that would be easy to print, or had a simple way to keep the rod from coming out of the holder. So I set out to design and print my own. This is the 3rd itiration and after going through 5 big rolls this final version has yet to have an issue. I suggest using PETG with 4 walls and 15% Gyroid infill. A PLA print is untested so try at your own risk. It might work but you may want to try increasing the number of walls and infill percentage. I tried to give this the most rigidity while uzing as little filiment as possible and was able to keep it under 500 grams.
Can Easily be set up and taken apart when finished or glued together for extra rigidity
Let me know if you have any trouble and I'll be glad to help.
