Description
Made a 9mm luger round that would be the maximum size my X1 could print. The scale ended up being 12X. The opening is right at about 108mm after printing so really you could use it as a container for a bunch of stuff. Might make a coin slotted top for it but i ran out of the silver/grey filament.

I printed this in silver and gold silk PLA. The silver turned out okay, but the gold had a lot of streaks where the threads printed. I decided to paint both pieces in metallic paint. The lighter is in the photo for size reference. It will make a nice gift box for a friend. Thanks!

I played with the layer settings and got it looking really clean. I only used PLA though not silk. I'd guess and say it might have been printing a bit too fast but apologies if im wrong ?

Possibly. Silk definitely can be temperamental. But on the other hand paint has a way of highlighting every imperfection too.

These are awesome, I will share photo's soon. I've done three of them now. Great model, good finish on them too. The bullet is slightly untre once screwed into the shell but its minor. I love them, thank you soo much for you work designing them and for sharing.

my son loves this. the print came out fine. the threads on the bullet came out a little stringing with PETG, but still fully serviceable. I shrunk it down to print on an A1 mini.

glad it worked out with the petg.....it took a minute to get the threads to print correctly at that size. was curious how they printed being shrank.

awesome print! Had to make a brim for the top piece because it kept coming loose from the print plate. Definitely not a big deal to fix.

Had to shrink it to 10x instead of 12x to fit A1 mini but overall Awesome!
