Description

Wanted a higher framerate camera for my P1S so I designed a mount for a Pi 3A+ I had lying around and a cheap Pi Camera.

I printed in PETG as I worried PLA might soften if printing with the door closed.
I fed the Camera ribbon cable behind the cross bar the camera and Pi are mounted on.
For the Pi power supply I stripped the outside of a USB cable off so the wire fits within the small gap that goes up to the top on the top right of the printer - it is really tight there, without doing that the cable would interfere with print head in its most forward and right position.

This was pretty roughly knocked together using Tinkercad so I am sure it could easily be improved!
I used this camera with my Pi 3A+ https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005715432290.html
Its all quite a tight fit with the printhead, though works well for me, so proceed at your own risk.

printed great! just having a weird issue where it keeps telling me the front cover of the tool head fell off when it didn’t.

odd. is it definitely pushed all the way in so the tool has isn't hitting it?

I figured it out, my wire was just slightly opening the tool head when it came over to do the little test strip before printing. After I moved it, all was good!

can you create a version for PI 3/4 B or provide the files?

😬Happy to provide the files - but its done in Tinkercad... Not sure if that's useful to you! Or provide the link of a case you would like to be used and I can try to quickly knock it together for you.

Are there any temperature issues (throttling?) with the RPi sitting inside the chamber, e.g. when printing ABS?

I'm not sure honestly, only printed ABS once. I don't imagine it's gonna be great for the PIs performance though!
