EDIT: This will not fit on an X1(C), as the lidar sensor is directly behind the hotend fan.

This is my attempt to help minimise nozzle clogging in my P1P, which seems to be a fairly common issue with Bambu Lab printers.

One of the theories is that heat from the bed/model is being drawn up into the (relatively small) hotend cooling fan, which reduces its efficiency and ability to cool, especially when dealing with high bed temperatures. This simple cover should help with this.

It is held on with the two screws which hold the hotend fan on. The easiest way to fit it is to unload the filament, remove the two screws which hold the hotend assembly in, and pull it down so you have enough room to unscrew the fan screws. Fit the "insulator" piece and then do up the fan screws.

I printed in PETG-CF but you can print it in whatever filament you like, except PLA (it's likely to melt)

that looks like part of the lidar unit. it's probably worse for fan flow than the P1, as some of the blade area is blocked.

If you still have them, try to put them in acetone and poke them regularly with the nozzle clog tool to free them. That worked for me with ABS. The nozzle can change to another color.

I'd say most P1S people have issues with heat creep on PLA and even PETG at times, because they don't keep the door and lid open. This might not be your case, but i don't have issues with PLA and PETG with my P1P and it's 100% open. I did have a work colleague and all his PLA issues with his P1S was him not leaving the door open when printing.

It doesn't seem like it is possible to install this with the LIDAR. Perhaps this should be marked as a P1-only model, or maybe it needs adjustment? Or maybe I'm just missing something...

Apologies if it doesn't fit with the lidar. I only have a P1P so can't model one to suit an X1C. Feel free to redesign it to suit, or send me a picture of the area and where it needs modifying to fit and I'll gladly do it.

I don't think it is necessary in X1, that hole is covered by the extruder head and the housing.

Too tight of a fit which presses the hot end too far forward.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to try and discredit my model but I can see you are struggling to understand so I'll keep this short. Heat rises - heat from the heated bed, hotend nozzle and filament are being drawn into the hotend fan, which reduces its effectiveness to cool the hotend. This can and does lead to filament softening before it enters the heatbreak and in turn, can lead to nozzle clogging or other print issues. This is why the hotend has cooling fins and a fan, to help prevent this from occurring. The hotend fan on the Bambu is actually very small for the higher temperatures it prints at. You might also notice there are holes in the cover which are directly behind the fan, that's it's only source of cooler air to draw from. I have seen others cut out the holes to form a larger opening to increase the air intake size. I'm not prepared to do this just yet so drawing on from what others have done to minimise this on other printers, (shielding the hotend fan from heat rising), this is my attempt. It's not preventing the fan from getting any air, more directing the air from the intake holes into the fan intake. If I could fit a larger, better cooling fan I would. I'm surprised that the X1 has half the fan intake blocked by the lidar board. At the end of the day, you're not being forced to install this to your P1P/P1S and it's very easily reversible if you don't like it (other than cutting a large hole in the side of the toolhead cover).
