Description

This is the Modular Device Stand.

  • Provides storage and organisation for small digital and other devices, such as power banks, spare phones, battery charges, wallets, small notebooks etc.
  • Modular - add or remove sections as desired! Sections range from 13mm (for slim devices like smartphones) to 30mm width (for thicker devices like a 20000 mah powerbank).
  • Customisable panels, which can be printed solid, or using infill settings in the slicer.

Plate 1 - Connectors

  • Choose your connectors based on how many sections you want the MDS to have, and the size you want each section to be.
  • Connectors are provided for section sizes from 13mm to 30mm. (The width of a connector is 4mm less than the size of the section, and this is not a mistake :) For instance, a connector for a 13mm section is 9mm wide, and a connector for a 30mm section is 26mm wide.)

Plate 2 - Panel Base

  • You will need:
    • 2 panel base (end) pieces
    • (X-1) panel base (middle) pieces, where X is the number of sections you want.
  • For e.g.: if you want to store just one device, you only need to print the 2 panel base (end) pieces. If you want to have 5 sections for 5 devices, print 2 x panel base (end) pieces, and 4 x panel base (middle) pieces.

Plate 3 - Panels

  • Print as many panels as you have panel bases (both the end and middle pieces).
  • Options for panel designs:
    • Solid - plain, printed as is, or top and bottom surface patterns from the slicer. The print profile includes 1 solid design with an octogram spiral surface pattern - change the design in the slicer if you wish.
    • Infill patterns - choose the infill pattern you like! Play around with infill density and infill direction, until you see something you like. 8 different infill designs are provided in the print profile - see photos for what they look like!
    • An original design I call a String Of Rainbows.

Assembly

  • I suggest assembling the panel bases and connectors first: i) panel base (end) → ii) connector → iii) panel base (middle) → iv) connector [repeat iii) and iv) as you wish] → v) panel base (end)
  • After assembling the panel bases and connectors, fit the panels into the panel bases
  • The pieces should clip together snugly
