Description

12-port mini patch panel enclosure.  Included STEP and Fusion 360 files so you can modify.

 

Dimensions (WxDxH): 255mm x 150mm x 51mm

 

Important notes:

  • This model is 255mm long and only just fits on the print bed of my Bambu Carbon X1. The patch panel itself is ~254.5mm long.
  • Threaded heat set inserts aren't all the same.  Check the diameter of yours before printing and modify the model to fits yours.
    • M5 diameter = 6.15mm, any length
    • M3 diameter = 3.96mm, max 6mm long (these are parameters in Fusion 360 file)

My use case: I have a crawl space where network cables meet and needed a mini patch panel that:

  • can be wall mounted on its base
  • is fully enclosed to be resistant to dust
  • very strong and will take abuse
  • inexpensive

Parts I used:

Printing tips:

  • I printed with 3 walls.  Any filament will work.  I chose PETG.
  • Only a tinsy bit of support is needed on the (top) rear insert.
  • My Print Profile includes modifier geometry to make the zip tie mounts very strong.   That geometry is included in the Fusion file in the Base component.
