Description

Another adapter for the printed solid Jessie spools now that they are moving to cardboard spools. I didnt want to miss out on using my repwinder for the most common spools I used, so I did a ton of remixing to make this work.

You absolutely need the files in this remix, these replace the files from the Repkord version of the same type. Specifically, the locking ring and the locking cap are thinner, this is a requirement due to the length of the inner core Repkord part. The side stands have a cutout to allow the spool to spin without rubbing.

The Adapter core part is the same for both sides, print two copies in the orientation shown, yes this needs supports this way, but flipping it over lets the cutout sag and not do its job of allowing the parts to sink in and have proper spacing for the stand. Print this with the tab facing down and with supports, trust me, many hours wasted printing the opposite direction. Set contact distance for the supports to 0.25 for easy removal.

For printing, use the included 3mf file for the side stands, they have to printed in the orientation shown to get the cutout to work. Unfortunately this means the Repkord name had to get filled in for ease of printing.

If you intend to use the screw holes on the stand parts, you'll need to add SNUG supports inside the holes, be sure you're using prusaslicer 2.4 or later for the snug support settings! I also set my contact distance to 0.25 for easier removal.

The locking ring and nut need to be printed at 0.2 layer heights or finer.

The two gcodes are for the adaptors for a generic PLA profile at 0.2 for an MK3s and the other for MK3s with MMU and slot 1 for the filament. Both about 4hr print time. Two more gcodes for the side stands, same options.

If you really feel like changing something, or think of a better remix, my sloppy Fusion360 file is included.
