Description

Speaker box for a 80mm (diameter) speaker.

How to built it:

  • Use 10x M3 plastic inserts for the covers
  • Use 4x M4 plastic inserts for the speaker

These inserts need to be melted into plastic after printing the case.

Inside the case is a small hole, for the cables of the speaker. The hole goes out of the back and can be closed from the inside with a small amount of hot glue.

The distance from the M4 speaker screws are the following: 64.5mm

The result is very good.

Happy printing

Any idea what the enclosure is tuned to?

I honestly don't remember, the calculations were done years ago, before the arrival of makerworld. In any case I have in mind a better calculated construction of a new design

I would love to see a third plate added.... A 1 inch thick to 2 in thick panel that is identical to the side profile with the port and everything. this way you could add more internal volume and even possibly two speakers side by side. Like a 3-in midbass and tweeter. also an optional Tweeter pod go on top of the enclosure would be nice too and should be really simple to do. Actually you could do an L-shaped bracket style mount with the opening for the tweeter. since no enclosure is actually "needed". it would definitely add life to this print and I would definitely share it on my car audio Facebook group!
