Description

If you love 3d printing, you know how important it is to keep your printer maintained. That's why I created this neat calendar to help you track your last or next maintenance tasks. . The calendar is designed to fit into a drawer, be taped to a wall or placed anywhere else you want. It also comes with an optional stand that you can use to display it on your desk or shelf.

The sliders come in 3 different sizes with 0.2 , 0.15 and 0 tolerance. From my experience the 0.15 works well with PLA, while 0 tolerance gives a very nice fit when the slider is printed in TPU. If you have TPU I would recommend to use it for the slider, but PLA works as well.

You might also want to check out my new tracking board. It can fulfill a similar approach, but has a different design and approach to it.

Boosts are greatly appreciated. They not only help offset the filament costs of test printing such designs and going through multiple iterations until they're 'ready' to share, but they're also a vote of confidence that inspires us to keep exploring new ideas and pushing the limits of what's possible with 3D printing. I'm deeply thankful for every single boost and the support it represents. Whether you use them on my models or others' - please utilize them.

From a printing standpoint this worked perfectly. I’m starting to think this isn’t exactly what I wanted, but that’s a personal preference.

What would you like to have different? I'm asking because I'm currently working on a second, slightly different version of it. Much likely with separate / replaceable name plates and pins instead of the slider to track up to 4 devices.

I wanted maintenance tracking based on the requirements of the X1C (https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance/basic-maintenance). In a perfect world, each item would have how frequently to check it, or perhaps a space to write it in with a marker since there are so many variations.

I've just released a little different version of a tracker board. Instead of a slider it allows for up to 4 pins at each intersection. The placement or color of the pins could be used as a guide for interval for example. Maybe that is a solution. This one also has replaceable nameplates that can be customized. It gives a bit more rough finish, but offers a ton more flexibility. https://makerworld.com/en/models/442481#profileId-348419

Love the idea...but letters are very hard to read. I reversed the contrast by printing black base with white letters, but it did not make it any easier to read. I also don't like the stencil font, but that's a personal point. I think a font like Cooper Black or Arial Bold would be easier to read.

Thanks for the feedback - I appreciate it. I'll see if can make a font like Arial Bold or similar fit into the overall size. The main issue will be that I can't use a much wider font because of the limited space for the calendar months, but maybe it helps if the thin elements of the font are wider, I could also try a version where the font isn't embossed. This would give me more headroom in the height of the font, It will make it a bit more troublesome to print for people without an AMS due to more color changes, but as a second optional print plate that shouldn't be fine. I'll see what i can do and release a second version. It just might take a week or so because I've just one printer on hand that is pretty busy at the moment. I want to test print it before i release anything.

That would be awesome! Like I said, I love your idea, so I hope version 2 works out. I look forward to seeing it released.

I did a first test, but in my opinion it's less readable than my original one. Arial Black and Cooper Black take way too much space for the current layout. I would have to reduce their height in half to barely fit the width. The best in height / width ratio that would fit and I had in my font collection was the Haettenschweiler Font, but the thick lettering doesn't really make it easier to read due to the thin spaces in between.

I see the new "Planning / Tracking Board" and I really like it. Are you giving up on the Maintenance Calendar? The Tracking board is awesome, but I like the size of the Maintenance Calendar and sliders better for what I want to use it for. Good luck and keep creating!!

I couldn't really find a better font that would fit within the space. But testing several fonts made me realize that it's much better to have the text parts replaceable to avoid having to print the whole big thing over and over again. It also offers the opportunity to print just the text with a smaller nozzle for better details. That's why the idea for the new board was born. Maybe I'll re-do this one with interchangeable text plates as well, but I can't really tell a timeframe yet.
