Description

Wanted to make this for a while, was interesting to work though the problems of packing moveable yet stable joints into a small space. The TPU wraps add force to the conical pins the joints rotate on.

Attempts were made to minimize support requirements, but some could not be avoided. Printed at 0.2mm, 3 perimeters on 0.4mm nozzle in PLA & TPU. All held together with friction, so completely rebuild-able.

If you just print the 3 Plates PLA1, PLA2, & TPU you should have everything you need, but the individual files along with a Master Step file are here too.

(This is left handed because, well, I am. If you want a right hand, mirror the WristBone, Bolt, and the ThumbWeb)

UPDATE - 25-03-2023: Modified the through-hole for the TPU pin for better fit and use.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

K, here we go, you should have these parts printed, PLA for the first pic and TPU for the second

After printing,

Next, build the fingers by laying these pieces out

Slide the TPU Knuckle Wraps on(they should be tight) hold the ‘finger’ between the palms of your hands, and use two of your fingers/fingernails on each of your hands to slide the TPU into position. Make 4 of them.

Next, the thumb

Now, put the straps between the fingers on. If you have the holes cleaned out nicely, the TPU pins should be firm to get in, but stay in place. There is not a lot of room inside, so the oposite side TPU pins will contact each other inside. Because of this, install the straps at about the correct angle, as they are harder to rotate once they are both in.

Slide the TKnuckle Joints and then the Thumb into place and press in. they should be firm but still a able to twist with a bit of force.
