Description

To celebrate the 7th anniversary of Pokémon GO, I decided to create some little Pokémon egg-shaped boxes. Each has an inner and outer shell that can be rotated to open or close the center. They print in place with no supports or assembly required.

I couldn't decide whether I liked the patterns better embossed or debossed, so I overlaid them in a way that they protrude outward, while the underlying shells feature negative imprints of their respective patterns. So, if you prefer the patterns to be inverted, you can easily achieve this by splitting the models in your slicer software. (PrusaSlicer/BambuStudio: right click on model > “split” > "to parts/pieces" Then, delete the patterns' meshes from the model list.) There is also a plain egg without any pattern.

In addition to the single-color versions, I have also included multicolor files for Bambu Studio. Enjoy :)

I really like the model, the rotating egg concept is really unique! However, be warned that this is a TRICKY print to get to complete. I had 5 failures before I got anything resembling a success. None of my attempts on the Bambu textured PEI plate worked, and multiple attempts on the Bambu cool plate with glue also failed. it wasn’t until I did the cool plate, with glue AND printed in silent mode (50% speed) that I got it to work.

you can also see how one of the inner eggs appears to have shifted late in the print, but somehow still finished intact!

Awesome designs. Sadly my yellow and black one (the legendary egg) bled pretty badly when I printed it. 😢 Painting them in Bambu Studio was a "fun" learning experience in manipulating the section view slider.
