Description

Please note this was a collab with Bambu Labs.

The printer was provided free of charge for this project.

Update 27/12/2022.

I've made some amendments to the assembly guide PDF. Added some additional notes on the best way to print some of the parts as well as provided further detail to some sections of the installation process. I've also added a small L or R on the left and right side parts to help people distinguish between them for the MOD installation.

I've also added step and stl files for blank ‘Round Side Parts’ in case anyone would like to add there own logo to them.

Check out Uncle Jessy's build!

This is your new best friend!!!

The companion cube mod is a must have for any Bambu Lab P1P owner. And any portal fan.

This is purely a aesthetic MOD. You do not need to touch the electronics at all!

I've provided a detailed assembly guide as a downloadable PDF. Just download this as you download the STL's. And please please please follow the instructions. It's not a complicated build. Allot of it is common sense. But there will be some instructions that would prove useful to follow in a particular order. I also recommend giving it a quick read before you start printing all of the parts.

You will also require superglue for this build.

I recommend a couple of spools of grey PETG. A couple of white pla. And a small amount of pink pla. Just refer to the sheet below

As a reference each 1 KG spool carrys an average of 330 meters
TotalsRequired Material In Meters ( Approx )Grams ( approx )
White - PLA618.481843.07
Grey - PETG390.931192.34
Pink - PLA47.72142.21

All parts are printable on a Bambu Lab P1P.

But I did print on the slowest setting on the P1P.

If you would like to use an AMS with this MOD, I've been informed you can so with the below additional MODs installed.

To sit the AMS unit on top of the printer with the Companion Cube Mod installed.

To help guide the PFTE tube.

https://www.printables.com/model/333616-bambu-lab-p1p-ptfe-tube-bracket

PTFE Tube Y-Splitter.

https://www.printables.com/model/308131-bambu-lab-y-splitter-with-pc4-m10-pneumatic-connec, this way you can run either AMS or spool.

If anyone has any questions or queries, even if you might think it is a stupid question, seriously, just ask me. Send me a DM through Prusa Printers and I will get back to you ASAP. I want people to be able to print this. So if anyone is having any problems, just reach out. I'll be happy to help where I can.

If you want to stay up to date with anything I am working on and are perhaps interested in other projects I have in development, please check out my instagram or Twitter.

I printed this last July when I first got my P1P and was my first major project on it. I loved how it turned out and wanted to give neil3dprints props on this site too. I found printing some of the white pieces on their corners negated the need for supports and turned out well. Looking at my P1p when I enter my office always puts me in a better mood. 👏

Very good, had to make a lot of adjustments but it turned out nice, wish the character limit wasn't only 500 😂

If I ever meet who put the time and effort into making this, I want to give you a big high five. Excellent work! This is such an amazing thing you have given to the community. Please keep doing great things and being amazing and if I ever meet you I will buy you a beer with that high five. Basic White PLA Basic Pink PLA Translucent Gray PETG Translucent gives it a glowing effect when printing. Which, I like as a nightlight sort of deal, and so my neighbor nerds can see my nerd beacon! Looking BACK notes: Print slow. It will take longer, but I had some prints that came out less than perfect and I had to reprint them. Taking longer. CA Glue. GLUE FIRST!!!! use protection, or use moisturizer/vegetable oil when you don't. Translucent would have been nicer if I had gone zero infill. But I love it regardless. Thank you again, Neil3dprints!!!!!
