Description

Turn your empty cardboard spools and leftover filament into attractive containers!

These modular stackable storage containers are finished with those short roll ends of filament that we never know what to do with. Print the solid bottom container to make a stackable unit. Print the open bottom container to combine multiple units into a tall container.  Mix and match designs to make your own creative container collection.

Remove the cardboard core from an empty (or nearly empty) Bambu filament spool. If there is tape on the cardboard core, remove it.  Place the end of a filament scrap into one of the small 2mm holes near the edge of the spool. A Bambu spool will typically have two or three of these holes.  If you are using multiple strands of filament, try wrapping them all on at the same time.

A few small drops of super glue will hold the filament ends in place.  Use masking tape to hold the filament even at the edge of the spool (if necessary). When the spool is completely covered with filament, use super glue to hold down the ends of the filament.

The top and bottom pieces are a snug fit that will snap over the filament on each end of the container. The filament must me fitted snugly to the cardboard spool before snapping on the top and bottom pieces.

A closed bottom, top, and a lid part will create a complete container.  An open bottom and a top part will create tube that will double the height of a compete container. Use your creativity and print only the parts that you need.
