PRINTING, ASSEMBLY, AND FINISHING

• Printing: Be sure to use the “Aligned” or “Rear” seam setting in your slicer so that the Z-seam is in one location and can be sanded out more easily if desired.
• Color/Finish: A matte white or natural colored filament looks great on these. I chose to print mine out of PETG for outdoor use and painted them with satin ivory paint, however. Using a matte finish for the Cover part is a nice contrast to the gloss finish of the tea lights/votives and makes the candle looks as though it was just lit and each flame has a small pool of molten wax under it.
• Body Assembly:
  • Clean up the bottom edge of the Top part and test fit it onto the Base part. Sand/trim if necessary so that the two parts fit together with barely any visible seam.
  • Place a small bead of glue (CA glue/super glue for PLA or PETG) around the inside of stepped lip at the bottom of the Top part where it slips over the Base part.
  • Slip the Top Part onto the Base part, aligning the seams as closely as possible. Quickly press downwards on the Top part before the glue starts to set to ensure the two parts fit together tightly with a minimal seam.

• Base (Body): This is the bottom half of the candle body and has a 9mm tall male stepped ledge at the top to insert into the Top part. This part is combined with the Top part for the small 1-piece candle.
• Top (Body): This is the top half of the candle body and has a matching bore size to accept the male stepped ledge of the Base part. This part is combined with the Base part for the small 1-piece candle.
• Plate: Drops down in the top of the candle and has provisions to position the LED tea light/votive candles to align with the Top part.
• Cover: Sits on top of the LED tea light/votive candles.
