Description

While doing a closet reorganization I needed a clothing rod to go across to support vertical storage of some camping chairs and equipment.  I had a closet rod and standard brackets sitting around but there were a couple of problems:

  1. My rod was a little too short for the closet space
  2. When I put the chairs up, I didn't want to knock the rod off onto myself and the standard brackets have no upward support or prevention from knock out.
  3. The 3 hole design on the standard bracket makes it impossible to line up more than 1 screw hole with a stud (and I find drywall anchors annoying)

3D printed solution:

2 brackets with vertical support clips that pop in but take significant force to pop back out.  I gave them a chunky base that extended the length and some spacers in the back in case you get your distances slightly off.  Designed to be supported by the vertical holes so it lines up with the studs but has 2 extra holes on the sides if you need to do it with drywall anchors.

Everything prints with no support and seems super sturdy in PLA.
