Description

Convenience gadget for organizing your material samples. Compact and elegant design resembling a small book, with pages that slide out like a filing system. For the internal cards, I’ve designed two versions—one suitable for accommodating Bambu Lab palettes (24x24x2mm) and the other for 30x30x2mm palettes that I’ve created, and I’ve attached a 3mf file of them. Returning to the organizer, it has been designed to be modular, with each module capable of holding up to three cards. You can decide how to assemble it; in the available files, there’s a PDF with instructions for assembling both versions. However, if you have any doubts, don’t hesitate to contact me; I’ll respond as soon as possible.

I also attach 3D PDF files that you will need to better visualize the assembly, they can be easily viewed with Adobe Acrobat or similar software.

On the bottom of the organizer and on each card, I’ve prepared slots for adding small magnets (Ø3x2mm) to keep the cards securely in place. You can decide whether to install them or not; you will need two for each card and the same number on the bottom.

ATTENTION!!! The magnets must be fixed with cyanoacrylate glue or similar!

For assembling the two-module version, you’ll need 16 screws, either 3x8mm or alternatively 3x6mm, and for the three-module version, you’ll need two more. The interlocking of the side panels is precise enough that no glue is necessary. However, if there are excessive tolerances in your printer’s work, you can add a little glue to keep them in place.

Information for printing:

All components were printed in PLA with a 0.40mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.20mm with the exception of the lateral guides, for which I set a layer height of 0.14mm, I reduced the speed of the walls to 150mm/ s and brim is activated to keep warping to a minimum.
For the two cheeks, however, I activated the supports, set the fill texture to gyroid and activated the brim.

I hope my project meets your expectations. If you need any additional accessories or have any suggestions, feel free to contact me. I’ll be happy to receive your feedback or requests.

As always, I apologize if my way of expressing myself in English is not perfectly correct, but since I don't know the language well, I have to rely on Google Translate.

Overall, the book printed great! However, I took off a star because the brims were hard to remove (too close to the model, never removed cleanly) and there were some tolerance issues. The top and bottom modules were still really tough to fit together the second time (after I cracked them once). Also, when I put the pages in, I had to file the slots quite a bit. Overall though, nice model! Printed in Inland gold silk PLA, Elegoo white Rapid PLA+, and Inland silk bronze red silk PLA.

I'm sorry for the problems you encountered, I didn't have any problems removing the brim, I recommend using a scraper and you'll see that removing the brim will no longer be a problem. As for the problem of tolerances, I don't know what to tell you (maybe it's the fault of the different material) I didn't have any problems there either, I preferred to opt for a more precise assembly to the advantage of the rigidity of the whole. Anyway, thank you for your feedback and thank you for your trust!

I let the print bed cool down after each print, and I still encountered issues where I had to get the last little bit of brim off. my P1S is brand new so I know it’s well-tuned. I’m not gonna use magnets to keep the pages in, but maybe you could make a version that’s a little bit looser? that way the pages would slide in easily and catch on the magnets. just a suggestion though, thanks for the great model!

There is mention of a three module set-up in the description, but I cannot seem to find the required larger "bottom three module" and "side b intermediate" objects within the project. Can you point me in the right direction for those 2 objects please?

you have to print the parts "side_A-intermediate", "side_B-intermediate" and for the back part the component "Bottom_three_modules". However, if you look at the attached pdf files you will understand better. Let me know if you need further clarification.

I understand which parts need top be printed for the three module set-up, however, when I load in the Filiment_swatches_box.3mf file provided here, those items are not included and was wondering where it is I can find them. I have included a screenshot of the Bambu Slicer window of the project being uploaded directly from this project page for reference.

Yes, correct, in the 3mf file I didn't put the pieces to compose the three modules because it could create confusion. I thought of it as an option for those who need more slots so you can find the pieces between the raw and stl files. You have to make a slicer separately for the additional pieces, obviously you won't have to print the two-module bottom if you have to make the three-module version. If you have difficulty doing this, let me know and I will prepare the 3mf for you by this evening, unfortunately I am not at home right now and cannot help you.

The Design looks really promising. Could you design labels for other brands too? I'm mostly interested in ELEGOO, but eSUN and SUNLU would be great too. I don't really get how the text function in Bumbu Studio works.

ok, I'll try to do it as soon as possible, create an editable 3mf file with Bambu Studio so that you can change the color and type of material.

Hi Lukas, I have uploaded the templates to create the 30x30x2 swatches, read the instructions carefully and you will see that you will be able to customize the swatches according to your needs, inside the file you will find the palettes with the Sunlu, eSun, Azurefilm, Geeetech and Bambulab brands. If you also need the Elegoo just simply change the text as you can see from the images. I remind you that obviously you have to set the material in relation to the palette you want to print, for obvious reasons it is impossible to think of creating all the configurations for material, color and brand. I hope the file helps you, let me know if you need more information or further help. Here is the link to the file: https://makerworld.com/en/models/214478

Hi @Tomany ! I love these and am printing out the final swatch pages for my setup. I think @LukasH97 was actually referring to the page labels, which I am also interested in if you are able to create them. You currently have Bambu PLA, Bambu PETG, and Bambu ABS labels, as well as Anonymous labels with no text. Could you please publish a version of the Bambu labels that have editable fields for text and color, both for the brand (Bambu for yours) and Material (PLA, PETG, ABS for yours). I like the ones you have and would like to be able to just change the text and color so they are all consistent. Thank you!!

Hi, if you are referring to the 30x30 palette model the file to print is called "Color_palette_30x30.3mf"
