Description

This is my take on the 3D calendar of the 2024 season of Formula 1.

Everything is facedown for the Textured PEI sheet finish.

Flags are printed on photo paper not normal paper so it shines more. You can find them in the pdf file.

If you need the text/word file message me and I will send it to you.

Thanks for your upload, I used the files to build a 25% scale to print on one plate. The text is a little fragile and hard to print at this scale though. I think it still looks alright.

Looks nice, how did you do so it would print in one piece? Really want to know it so I can do it in other projects.

I used tinkercad to put it all together. I’m sure there are other ways but I’m not great with other CAD software.

Although the main program I use is fusion 360, I use tinkercad a lot, for simple designs or like you, to print pieces of different colors. It makes it very easy thanks to the intuitive and simple design!

Excellent kit to print with instructions and resources! For the US people, found a 30"x40" foam board at Hobby Lobby, cut to size to fit inside the edge pieces. Made a thin wooden frame to staple the foam board to, and then gel super glue objects onto the foam board. Printed around 8 of the templates to build the board and make sure everything aligned. Tolerances with my white edge pieces was tight, ended up using some brute force (hammer) to get the perimeter put together. Printed the flags on photo paper.

Did you use black foamboard? Or were all the printed pieces so perfectly aligned that zero white foamboard is showing through all the finalized piece? About to go to Hobby Lobby right now!

Sorry just seeing this - black foam board. There was nothing printed with black material.

I made it 100% on plum board 70x100 and it looks fabulous. I just realise there was a frame to help for the print and I also made one myself that looks very similar but with a clip between them so they dont move and also a border clip to maintain everything aligned from the sides.

Fun design. Made as a gift for a friend. I designed my own mounts for the back to use string so the model can be hung on the wall like a picture. I also traded the poster board for 1/4" melamine as the main back piece.

Very good work, really nice rendering. 60% printed with dates, so I can stick magnets on the back and fix it to the fridge. (420x600mm). I was therefore able to have a 500x700mm foam cardboard delivered to me. Version without the curbs for a more sober look. My girlfriend and I are very happy. Bravo again for the work. I improvised a frame to position the dates, but it wasn't easy (oops..my frame wasn't right ).

This was a ton of fun. Learned a bunch about our new p1s. got the foam board at Hobby Lobby (US) for $10. used crazy glue and some epoxy (took a lot!) it's not perfect but it's going to be enjoyed.
