Description

A fully customizable calendar created in OpenSCAD!

Features

  • The days are always correct - uses an algorithm to calculate the correct day for any date. So if you want to print a calendar for 2077, rest assured that the model will calculate the correct day for the 1st of January (it's Friday, btw).
  • Generate only select months - the full model measures 240x240 mm, which might be quite large for some smaller printers. You can generate only months 1-6 and then separately months 7-12 and voilá, it fits.
  • Choose how many months are on each row - what would it help cutting the calendar in half by only selecting half of the months if you couldn't fit 3 columns on your print bed? Well, just change the amount of columns, of course! Set it to 2 and the model fits again.
  • Custom holidays - every country has different holidays and here you can put them all easily!
  • No AMS? No problem! - supports printing both with AMS/MMU and without. With a simple toggle you can switch between multi material mode and a mode where each colored part has different height for manual color switching
  • Are Saturdays worth celebrating? - you decide! A simple toggle to toggle whether Saturdays have that holiday/Sunday color or not
  • Magnet or hook holes? - or both? You can configure the diameter, width, height and whatnot of either or both.
  • What the f…ont! - choose your font, choose your font size.
  • No hablo English? - just translate the calendar to your language! Title, month names and day names are all translatable.

Note that this model is fairly complex. Rendering all parts can easily take an hour, so when you customize it, be patient.

AMS/MMU

The model supports rendering each colored part separately so that you can export multiple models, open them all at once and choose different colors for each. Simply toggle each color individually (in the What to render section) and export the model, then open all 4 models by dragging them onto your favorite slicer and when it asks whether all models should be treated as a single model, say yes (tested on Bambu Studio and PrusaSlicer).

Customizing

You can either use the customizer here on MakerWorld, or download OpenSCAD, open the downloaded .scad file in it and use the customizer on the right side of the window. Note that the MakerWorld customizer is many orders of magnitude faster than OpenSCAD.

Sadly the MakerWorld customizer does not render colors so it might get quite confusing to see just a big white rectangle. My advice is to first set up all the parameters and then in the What to render section turn them on one by one, generate and download and preview the result in your slicer.

Printing tips

  • If slicing yourself, use the Arachne wall generator.
  • Clean your printbed really well - this print is quite large and thus reaches even parts you may touch with your hands and normally don't print on, which may then cause corner warping.
  • Preferably use smooth plate instead of textured one.

Can't figure it out. All I see is a white rectangle with holes even though I think I've entered the correct information

In the what to render section you need to uncheck all parts and leave only one checked (for example white), generate it, download the model, uncheck white, check different colour (for example red), generate and download. Repeat for all four colours, you should end up with 4 models, drag all of them at once to your slicer and when it asks whether these are a single model, say yes. If it's still too confusing, let me know, I'll do a quick video.

Your instructions seem clear but I can't get it to work in orca even though that part seems similar in orca, I guess I'll need a video when you find time. Thanks
