Description

I designed this Spool Adapter for the Bambu Lab AMS for my Overture cardboard spools, since none of the other adapters currently available fit it properly. This design utilizes the holes of the carboard spools to help lock the adapter in place as well as an anti-slip lip at the top (prints without supports) that will prevent the adapter from coming loose inside the AMS. I exported this as a high quality STEP file and as a result the curves on the outside have no flat edges and will spin easily inside the AMS. The model only uses 13g of filament.

 

UPDATE 1/10/23 - VERSION 2

I have adapted this model and print profile to better align with my other cardboard spool models on Maker World. These changes result in faster print times and less filament usage without any changes to the quality of the print. Version 2 is named “VERSION 2 - 0.24mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill” in the print profiles list.

Brand new P1S with AMS and just discovered the cardboard mess - This design looked the cleanest (didn't need the word "Overture" printed on it - I also love the small knobs that fit PERFECTLY in each roll.) I actually printed this on one of my older prusas and it fits like a glove and does not at all interfere with the AMS lid from closing. Great design, however my one suggestion would be to make the height of the thin wall another mm tall so that it would allow for easier removable during roll changes.

Great model. Printed to run my Overture PETG spool in the AMS. Clean print, snaps on nicely, easy to pop off, works great in AMS, and I can shut the AMS lid all the way. The creator is my go to creator for Spool Adapters, their models just work.

I really liked this adapter that attaches to the holes. I did them PLA as asked but i think i may redo them in PETG for strength as one side has a small split in it already without use

After I dropped a cardboard spool of Overture filament, it had quite the dents in it. Printing this model from PLA made the spool turn smooth again. Thanks!
