About the tool

This is a parallel clamp, designed to hold two objects together securely while performing tasks like marking, drilling, or light assembly. Unlike a vise, this clamp is not built for heavy-duty applications or extreme pressure, but it excels in precision and convenience.

Benefits of it

This tool was created to provide a simple, lightweight solution for holding parts in place during tasks that require stability and accuracy. For example, clamping a hinge to a wooden piece for marking or pre-drilling holes, as shown in the photos.

Note

  1. Not for High Force: This clamp is made of 3D-printed PLA, which is not suitable for excessive pressure. Over-tightening could cause the material to crack or break.

  2. Perfect for Light Tasks: Use it for delicate jobs where the goal is to align and hold objects together rather than applying significant force.

  3. To assemble this clamp, you will need an M4 screw, which is used to secure the locking mechanism.

Filament

For the best results, it is recommended to print the threaded parts of this model using a stronger filament, such as PETG, ABS, or Nylon, as these materials offer higher durability and flexibility compared to PLA. This will reduce the likelihood of the parts breaking if too much pressure is accidentally applied during use.

Printing Instructions

If possible, do not change any of the printing settings provided for this model. This design has already undergone multiple successful prototype prints with the current configuration, and no issues were encountered during the process. Changing the settings could affect the quality, precision, or functionality of the final product, and I cannot guarantee that the results will remain consistent if any adjustments are made. For the best experience, please stick to the original parameters. The standing threaded part might seem tricky, but it does not need support while printing.
