Description

It's a replicate of the fusion core from the Fallout series that also works great as storage. The top can be unscrewed to access the inside.

This fusion core mode does not require AMS, glue, or any screws, It can also be printed on an A1 Mini and is easy to assemble.

Size

  • Height: 200mm
  • Diameter: 70mm
  • Storage diameter 50mm
  • Storage height 120mm

Printing

  • You need to print each plate once.
  • I have chosen to focus on clean outer surfaces and minimum support in my print profile.
  • All support should be easy to remove if you let them cool down.
  • If you want to change my print profile be aware that I have used small modifier cubes and object-specific settings.

Colors

No AMS is needed for this print. All parts with the same colors are grouped together on the same build plate. Each plate also has the color of the parts in its name. I may make an AMS version if enough people request it in the comments.

Assembly

The model consists of 4 parts. 1 body (yellow), 2 top parts (black), and 1 top decoration (red). You need one of each to build the fusion core.

  1. Push top part 1 into the body. This is a tight fit so you have to apply force to get it in. Once it is in it should not be able to get out again. Each side of the top part has pins that you need to match with holes on the body. One side has 1 pin and the other has 2. Careful not to break the pins when pushing the parts together
  2. Push the top decoration onto the pin on top part 2. Be careful not to break the pin. This is the most fragile part of the build. When the decoration is on, I don't recommend removing it again or rotating it too much.
  3.

Screw top part 2 into top part 1. The lid should rotate smoothly and freely. To luck the fusion core you have to tighten the lid at the very end of its rotation and it should stand closed until you apply a small amount of force to unlock it again.

  4. Congrats you have a Fallout Fusion Core!

Remix Changes

  • Remodeled so it needs less support.
  • Remodeled into fewer parts.
  • Added pins and changed tolerances for screw and glue-less assembly.
  • Added lockable screw lid.

Copyright

  • This is not an official Fallout model.
  • The model can not be used commercially.
