Description

This is a fairly simple, straight forward HP counter. Everything prints without supports. The numbers can optionally be inset with a different color, which are best glued in place with super glue. The frame has three options, one with an embossed pointer, one with an inset (which is what I printed here), and one with separate parts for color printing.

Updates

  • 2024-02-19: Added an optional left wheel, with the #9 embossed. Both the plain and colored wheel now has this option.
  • 2023-12-20: I added the 3MF and .step files for the colored number wheels.

Printing and assembly

The colored versions (for printing on printers with multiple colors), there's no assembly.

Nothing special here, everything prints flat. Make sure that you place the wheels with the flat side down of course. If you are doing the insets for the numeric wheels, I noticed that the number 8 tends to print a little worse because of the bridging. Before gluing in the number 8, trim the bridges in the wheel. I only noticed this issue for 8.

I noticed that the uploaded STL files aren't oriented the way they should be printed. I'll fix this later, but the .3mf has all the models properly loaded and oriented.

The text model and the pointers are optional, and only needed if you are planning on doing the insets.

Came out really good! Took a bit to realize why one of the wheels was missing a 9, then it all made sense as I saw the spacers. Well designed, easy print. Thank you!

It matters which one is left/middle/right, and you're unlikely to have a monster with more than 899 HP! Also so it looks nice to just have a 10hp monster, instead of 010HP

Btw, maybe stating the obvious here, but you can adjust how tight the wheels are by tighten / loosen the screw holding the bolt. Or is it tight even with the bolt very loose?

I figured for many levels you will have less than 100hp, and 007 HPs looked weird :). My wife asked the same question, maybe I should make a left wheel with all 10 digits. easy to do.

There were a few requests for having a left wheel with the #9 embossed. So I've added the STL and STEP file to the downloads section, and for the print profile I've added an optional plate with this new left wheel as well. Let me know if there are any problems, but this is such a tiny change that I don't think it can cause print problems.

Just printed this out as a last minute gift for my son's Magic: The Gathering games. Great print! I did the multi-color wheels using my AMS. Everything came out great.
