Description

Are you looking for something to do with all of the boxes left over from Christmas deliveries and packaging? Why not turn them into another toy!? Build forts, costumes, or really anything. Check out the other parts of the collection here: https://makerworld.com/en/u/889139689/collections/153028

Edit 4/10/2024:

I'm leaving this up in case anyone likes this version and wants a reprint but you might want the updated version since the blade is stronger and does not wobble in the handle.

Edit 12/22/2023:

Tightened clearances on the blade holder for less wobble and shrank the poking tool for easier assembly. Everything still locks tightly into place.

This is a tool for cutting cardboard panels. The original's handle was replaced with a modified version of the bending tool's handle and the blade was made thinner for a better cutting action. When assembling the blade handle make sure the slots in the pin are facing the front and back of the tool to keep it from wobbling.

Printed perfectly, and works well but I am not sure if the PLA is going to be strong enough for the blade teeth long term

Yeah it's a balance between durability and not having too much flex in the blade. These things are usually metal but I wanted something I could use with my toddler. Let me know! I have some ideas on how it could be worked around.

I was thinking about modifying the handle to work with a sawzall blade. I did the entire set for my daughter, so I will give it to her in the morning and see how long it holds up. I may be looking for a problem that isn't there.

printed it in PLA-CF. the way that the blade attached meant it want firm, wobbled around. it broke on second cut.

Give this a try: https://makerworld.com/en/models/422050 Also I went with a more flexible filament (sunlu pla+), CF might be too brittle for a something this thin that will see flexing forces.

the print itself is great but I may have needed to choose a better filament than pla silk. the bushing that holds the knife broke when I tried to use it. everything fits together super well though
