Thought I didn't need it. Turns out, it's the perfect solution for a spool dryer that auto-rotates the spool. All the weight at the bottom was too much for the AMS HT. Now it's evenly distributed.👍

Printed with Bambu ABS. The rim deformed while drying at 85°C, making it impossible to rotate them in a spool dryer. With a thicker upper rim, it could be fine. I fixed it afterward with some subtraction magic and forcefully inserted triangles.

printed with pa6-gf. had to remove some elephant foot and would use brim next time.
made two temp. tests with an ppa benchy. in both cases i waited 1h with 85° dry mode.
center: 17° below set temp.
rear: 5° below set temp. , but some points 5° above it.

the joints are too thin for my silk pla. it broke apart while bending the build plate. next try is white pla/petg and custom style with stone colors. 😅

One of my cats likes to grab things with her claws. The holes seem to be perfect for that.

Well, that was quite informative. The winner is PAHT CF (black, second from right). Walls 1, 2, and 4 lines thick just bend. The wall 8 lines thick laughs at me trying to break it. And the plate itself bends but does not break.
PA6 GF (lime green, right) is my most bang-for-your-buck winner.
I also am impressed by how well PLA and PETG perform at room temperature. Without special needs (heat, chemicals, uv light, impact...), they are better than most other materials.

print the spring in petg on a pla raft. separated easyly and bottom looks like printed on a smooth plate 👍
i fine tuned the tip with some uv resin. but the gears are too loose for more than ±0.5m precision. would try more stiff materials next time. but im alread happy with the first try in pla 😁

Swapped basic white for matte white. Seems like the white got underextruded. Fortunately, this gives the image more texture. 😅 (Had about 50 minutes of slicing time on a 5800X3D)
