I foolishly ignored the very clear warning about tight hinge tolerances and printed the whole model in one go using some random colorful PLA. Unsurprisingly… it fused. Fused so well that the lid snapped off when I tried to wiggle it. After a bit of troubleshooting with ChatGPT, I made the following changes in Bambu Studio and reprinted only the first 78 layers (using negative part): X-Y Contour Compensation: -0.1 Elephant Foot Compensation: 0.15 With those adjustments, the hinge worked almost immediately after printing. I glued the test print onto the original decapitated body—so the final box is a bit taller than intended, but it works great.
