Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out what software might work best for my needs. Short version, my wife has vision issues, and I'm trying to make a gasket that will go between her glasses and her face and block out excess light. (It's a medical thing, it's complicated.) I bought a RevoPoint scanner, and have scanned the glasses and her face. If this were a simpler problem, I would use TinkerCad and import both scans, add some blocks in the gap between where her face is and where the glasses sit, and then delete both face and glasses from the blocks, so I get a shape that follows both contours properly. Problem is TinkerCad accepts files no bigger than 25mb. The glasses scan is like 70mb and her face is 3x that. I tried simplifying both meshes using MeshLab, and lost too much detail for it to be useful. I tried doing what I was trying to do using MeshMixer, but every time I tried to carry out the 'remove' functions, the program would crash out and I'd lose everything I'd done to that point. Can someone recommend to me a program that will let me do what I'm trying to do, without filesize restrictions, that doesn't cost 4 digits? I'm fine with paying for software, but it should be able to import full size STLs, add geometry as distinct objects, and then do the remove function. Anything else is icing on the cake. Recommendations please? Thank you so much.
