I built the Chrysalis Castle as a celebration of the monarch butterfly’s journey. Inspired by the need to protect pollinators and create a welcoming habitat, I wanted a piece that would stand out in any garden. I started with a playful idea—giving the monarch’s metamorphosis a “castle”—and designed the model to bring awareness to their habitat needs. It’s a lighthearted reminder of the critical role these butterflies play, and it’s my way of helping gardeners support them—one sign at a time.

I created these designs out of my love for both monarch butterflies and a good pun. Each model started as a sketch inspired by the spaces in my own pollinator garden. I wanted something that would bring a smile to visitors while also celebrating the important role of butterflies. After some tweaks in my design software, I printed them in PETG, so they could live happily ever after outdoors!

I wanted to create something to offer shelter to the endangered Monarch Butterfly. this build will offer a safe place for caterpillars to pupate

i really needed a sign to warn visiting Monarch Butterflies to watch out for the very large Preying Mantis in my garden. Let's hope they can read :)
