I recently 3D printed the BQ basketball using BQ PLA-HR filament, which I dried at 65°C for 5 hours. I printed on a textured PEI build plate with a 0.6 mm nozzle and I added layer of glue to the build plate for easier suppprt removal, and also added some magnets around the print to make sure the print stays on the build plate. Early in the print, I bumped the nozzle temperature up to 230°C and kept both the front door and top lid slightly open for airflow. At around 90%, I turned the printer to silent mode to minimize the risk of issues with the overhangs. The final print came out grea, relatively easy removal from the build plate, and the supports were fairly easy to remove. The ball bounces almost as well as a regular basketball. I’ll update if I run into any durability issues over time, but so far it looks and feels solid.
