I recently found that using PETG results in less resistance compared to PLA. I haven't tested it with ABS, but PETG is probably the better option. Although PLA has more resistance than PETG, it still works without any issues.

I made a simple bearing using 6mm BBs. It’s a 3D model with a 20mm inner diameter, 40mm outer diameter, and 10mm thickness. It works well for things like filament spool holders, allowing smooth, low-resistance movement. To assemble, just add 10 BB pellets to the printed parts. The BBs are cheap—usually under $1 for a pack. This is an easy and affordable alternative to buying a commercial bearing.
