I am not sure about others, but when using top-firing speaker radios like the Xiegu G90 or Icom IC7300, I have one heck of a time pulling out faint signals, especially outdoors, because the audio is being sent upward and away from my face. Looking around online, I found a bunch of 3d printer files for sound reflectors for the IC7300 that looked like wedges, semi-spheres, etc... but nothing that meets my idea of portable. I wanted light weight, low profile, compact, easy to pack away and deploy.
