let me start with saying I'm really new to 3d printing and modeling. I love using it as an addition to my CNC router to create new possibilities for my projects. I originally printed this as it was designed just to sit on my kitchen counter. It was a great design and printed well. My wife and daughter both like it so much I immediately started thinking of a modified project. I used the original design, kept the original positioning of the phone insert and watch insert as it worked really well. I changed the base to be a simple rectangle with two raised sections so I could easily maintain the same angle and placement of the charging inserts. I cut the wooden base out of a piece of scrap Birdseye maple that has a large knot hole in it. After filling the hole with epoxy and running the CNC file my daughter decided the inserts should be printed in purple silk PLA.
