A case I made styled after a case I had come across in the videogame Starfield. I had been thinking about this basic idea for awhile, but it was catching that design in starfield that kicked things into gear. I would like to do a version down the road that prints on end for the main case. As it is, it's styled to print flat, which can be tough on the curved nature of the model. I simplified it a little from the starfield version to make it more practical and easier to use/print/assemble. There's 3 sizes provided! A Small, Medium, and Large! The Medium should work fine on most modern sized printers (with a 250ish bed). The large is sized for something like a 400mm sized bed! You can of course modify the files to fit whatever size you want. I'm going to make one I can fit a gridfinity setup in! Hardware Required: 16 x M3x10mm screws to attach the ends. The hinge uses a piece of filament. You might need to use something to clear the hole a little, to get the filament in. It is sized just big enough. 4x6 magnets are used to keep the lid closed. The magnet sticks to the screws that line the perimeter of drywall sheets. These screws secure the drywall sheets to the framing studs of the wall. Find the screws in the drywall, you found the studs behind the drywall.If you are having trouble finding a stud it helps to know where they are supposed* to be. Studs are almost always 16&#34; or 24&#34; inches apart from each other, 1.5 inches wide, and every light switch or wall outlet should* have a stud directly to the side of it on the left or right.Once you&#39;ve found a drywall screw you should be able to find a vertical line of them, this should give you a pretty decent idea where your stud is, mark the left and right edge of the stud with a pencil.If you are not able to find a stud or need your shelf somewhere where none exists, It is highly recommended you use some quality drywall hangers. If you don&#39;t have any on hand, I have provided some that you can print.<ul><li>drill a pilot hole for your hanger, and make sure your hole is the right size for your hanger. If using the printed ones provided (7mm or 1/4inch drill bit)</li><li>install the drywall hanger by hand, you do not want to strip out the drywall.</li></ul><h3>Step two: mount the shelf, first screw</h3>Place your shelf on the wall where you think you want it, use a bubble level or your phone&#39;s app, and trace a line where level is. Your first screw should now be placed somewhere on the line and in the middle of your stud.When installing your first screw, do not worry about keeping your shelf level, as this is can be adjusted when installing the second. Instead, focus on the angle of the screw matches the shelf hole angle and be sure not to over-tighten the shelf. If you over-tighten the screw it can crush the 3d printed plastic shelf. It is better to be a quarter turn loose, than a quarter turn too tight in this case.<h3>Step three: second screw</h3>If you want to be extra secure your second screw can use a drywall hanger, but if you found a good stud on the first it is not necessary.Now that you got the first screw in, your shelf should still be just loose enough to adjust to make it level.Install your second drywall screw, and like the first be careful not to over-tighten, but in this case we are trying to avoid stripping out the drywall (or drywall hanger)Once you are all done,<ul><li>your shelf should be tight up against your wall</li><li>be level</li><li>and screws facing upwards</li></ul>Best practice for adding books:Use your largest hardcover book as the baseStack books heaviest to lightest, and largest to smallest.Note, very large books (textbooks) will have a center of gravity beyond the edge of the invisible shelf, and will not stay on the shelf on their own. Adding smaller books on top will keep it in place but these large and heavy books will cause the shelf to sag more than a small heavy book will. be careful and use your best judgment when is too much for the shelf to handle.Note, that the FDM-printed plastic is semifluid and very susceptible to heat. heavy loads in hot environments will cause the shelf to slowly fail over time.My recommendation is to use smaller stacks of books and print a bunch of shelves for the best results.Congrats, thanks for following along, and enjoy!

I started off making a rack for some Altoid tins I had collected over the years. I soon ran out of tins. So I printed some. Then I realized that a package of screws from Home Depot holds just a little too many screws to fit in the tins. So I made a rack that holds three tins instead of four. The new tins are slightly taller. And just for completeness, I made a rack that holds 2 tins.All the racks are the same height and width and they all have nesting feet and dimples so you can stack them.My workbench is now a lot cleaner.

I grew up with a TurboGrafx and really wanted a sign I could proudly hang in my office, so to the few of you out there that feel the same way, enjoy!Materials needed:Hot GlueLED strip of your choosing, trimmed to fitScrewsInstructions:Print the Light Box FIRST to see how big you can get the entire thing. I printed at 170% scale which was 246x186x34 (Bambu P1P).1.) Print all files separately in their corresponding colors, I used black PLA for the light box and the black letters, orange/clear/green PETG for their corresponding letters/numbers.They should all be press to fit, but may require a little sanding/trimming if your printer isn't as accurate as mine was during the process. Also keep in mind if printed at small scale it may not be as easy to assemble.2.) Once the main plate is fully assembled, I dabbed small amount of hot glue around the borders to keep them from shifting, but didn't see a need to put any glue for the lettering as they fit very tightly.<figure class="image"><img src="https://makerworld.bblmw.com/makerworld/user/3287974898/draft/2023-09-25_5zpvy24rv6tr.jpeg"></figure>3.) Run your LED strip through the bottom hole, then attach either with hot glue or adhesive to the inner wall as shown. Place the plate inside the base, it should catch on a small lip inside the base to keep it flush. Place two screws in your wall on a level line, about 3 inches apart, then simply place the sign on them (the back lip should catch).6.) I made this so that the run-off flows straight where it belongs → Into a container, from where a condensate pump can move it to a bigger container. These have been tested and used with fabric pots, but plastic pots should work fine as well. I will eventually make a few different sizes. <h2>Modular Rack System for Gridfinity Drawers</h2>This is a completely modular customizable rack system for gridfinity drawers.&nbsp;Please scroll down to find the list of all available models and links to the download pages.&nbsp;The system currently consist of three types of elements. Elements for a single rack tower, elements for a double rack tower and elements for a customizable rack multi tower / drawer wall.&nbsp;All elements are housing drawers with space for a 5x5 gridfinity base plate and are currently available in the following heights:3U, 4U, 6U, 8U and 10U.&nbsp;A xU drawer can fit standard xU gridfinity boxes.&nbsp;The side, back and connector elements contain dove tail connectors with friction fitting.To connect and disconnect them, a little bit of force is needed. I found that lightly tapping with the back of a scredriver does the trick.To connect the elements vertically, connection pins have to be printed.The top of a rack tower can be finalized with the modular top lid elements. To connect these lid elements, screw in connection pins are provided.&nbsp;Every element can be printed on a Bambu Lab X1C or P1P/S build plate (256x256).&nbsp;I drew a lot of inspiration from the FOSBOS and BaBo systems, but I wanted to create a system that would not need screws or glue and could be reconfigured at any time.<h3>Print settings</h3>Every element has its own print profile (follow Modular Rack System for Gridfinity - Overview

This is a version of my sci-fi case, sized to work with the [BaBo] system (8x6 units → <a target="_blank" href="https://makerworld.com/en/@Willi3D/collections/666866" rel="nofollow noopener">Willi 3D&#39;s BaBo Collection).</a> I liked the insets! The prototype versions of this case I&#39;ve already been using to hold printer tools, and so it just seem natural. They work and look great together.   It&#39;s a tight fit on build plate! I recommend printing the case portion with some sort of support to help the curves print nicer. It uses 16 M3x10 screws, 4 4x6 round bar magnets, and a piece of filament for the hinge!
