I usually read on an e-book reader and mark quotes that I want to remember. But since I often receive analog books as gifts, I've been looking for a way to mark the quotes without having to underline them in the book (don't like that) or transfer them to an app while reading. I use these little markers to highlight quotes in bed at night and then transfer them to an app the next day when I'm not reading.

I use the Aqara Vibration Sensor to get Notifications, when we receive new mail. This is a little holder to hang the sensor into our mailbox.
