Maybe a way to make cables look less boring when you cannot hide them?

I designed my own improved chess set, but after 1 year no one bought the 3D model, so I’ve decided to make it free! As I believe being able to visualize the game is one of the most important aspect when playing chess, I tried to optimize the chess pieces in that way (making them visual) while keeping them easy to be 3D printed. I also questioned traditional design choices, like why the rook is shorter than pieces it outranks, so everything for better logic and balance. Share me your thoughts!
