I designed this modification because I was tired of seeing overpriced "dedicated filament dryers" that are essentially just rebranded food dehydrators with a generic box. I realized that by adapting a standard, affordable food dehydrator with a custom-engineered enclosure, I could achieve better thermal efficiency than many commercial units on the market.
My goal was to stop heating empty air and start focusing that energy exactly where it's needed: on the filament.
