#petfeeder I know, this contest is dedicated to pet bowls. I’ve seen some beautiful and functional designs, but today I’ve decided to post something that has nothing to do with a bowl. I’ve chosen to participate with an intentional "off-topic" submission because I believe the true value of 3D printing lies in its ability to solve the real problems that life throws at us. This is Cloe, my 14-year-old cat. She is my travel companion; I always bring her with me, but lately, our trips have become difficult. Age is starting to catch up with her, and unfortunately, she can no longer manage her needs like she used to. She would get messy, she was uncomfortable, and in her attempt to clean herself, she ended up hurting her skin by pulling out her fur. Rather than focusing on a designer bowl, I felt an urgent need to focus on her. I designed and printed this riser. It’s a simple grid that I place inside her travel litter box. It acts as a platform that allows her to stay clean and dry by keeping her elevated. I know this model won’t win the pet bowl contest, but for me, it is the most important project I could ever share. I figured that among the many pet lovers reading these pages, someone might be in a similar situation and need—more than a bowl—a solution for the well-being of their aging companion.
