I enjoy assembling all kinds of interesting gadgets. I’ve started designing a new padlock, which is different from my previous versions and equally fun.

I spent several days developing this model. I started with a small 3×3 version, and gradually upgraded it all the way to the standard 19×19 Go board. My goal was to make the entire board printable on a single build plate. I also added a really cool feature: you can reset all the pieces quickly by simply tapping the side of the board. This function relies on the specially designed triangular pieces with an unbalanced structure. When shaken or tapped, most pieces can easily return to their original positions.It does not work 100% perfectly, and a few pieces may get stuck occasionally, but overall the board can be reset quite fast. It’s a really fun model to play with. I also ran into quite a few difficulties during the design. First of all, the model has a very large base, which makes it prone to warping while printing. My first trial print of this large board suffered severe edge warping. That means you may need to apply glue or use other methods to make the base adhere better during printing. All in all, this is a fun yet quite challenging model. Beginners are not recommended to print the full large version directly. You can start with the smaller size to get familiar with it. If you are ready for a challenge, you can try printing this complete large 19×19 Go board with embedded pieces. It’s extremely interesting to use.

I previously designed a very popular padlock model and released two versions at that time. Many users left feedback in the comment section complaining about various installation issues. Therefore, I completely redesigned and optimized the original model, making major changes to its assembly method and overall structure. Now the third version is released. It’s quite an awkward situation. I designed a really large model that’s about 250 millimeters wide. It’s a board game board, and its size almost takes up the entire print bed of an A1 printer. But if I want to print it in multi-color mode, I have to use a purge tower. That means there’s no room left for the board model at all, so I can’t print it in multi-color. I might have to ask someone else to print it with an H2C large-format printer. So far, I’ve only successfully made a 15×15 board.

These past few months have left me totally drained. I’ve devoted a lot to 3D printing and finished countless models, yet there are so many more creations I want to make, and I just never have enough time. Everyone has limited time and energy. It’s been a while since I lost my job, and life has been full of pressure lately. I only get a small income from 3D printing, and I keep wondering if I can make a living from this passion in the future. I’m extremely worn out right now. I don’t even have time to share my works, nor the chance to reply to all your comments and messages one by one. I feel really sorry about it.

I like complex mechanical structures, and if they can be practical, it makes me even happier. I made a lock that can indeed be used. During this process, I printed and redesigned it multiple times, and it has become better and better. When I finished the final version of the modifications, I combined all the parts together and it ran perfectly. It was so perfect!
