Ww had planned to waunch the HexaBees project this weekend, but with the big winter storm on the East Coast, we’ve decided to delay it until this coming Friday. i’m super excited to share our design files with our early backers, and if you happen to be in the SAN DIEGO area, we can work out an opportunity for you to pick up acrylic fronts needed for the HexaBees hive (if you bring your own acrylic material for cutting) for free. I cut and engrave a lot with my XTool P3, including cutting the acrylic windows for the @HexaBees bee hives (about to launch on MakerWorld crowdfunding soon). I created this print to replace the dust collector filter on my XTool P3. You can buy replacement filters from XTool for $4 each plus shipping, or you can print your own and add the filter material, cutting the cost to under 50 cents each. If you're using your laser cutter/engraver a lot, like I am, I'm replacing filters every other day.

Meet HexaBees 🐝 A wall-mounted observation hive made for indoor viewing with safe outdoor bee access. You get front-row seats to the colony, while the bees keep their commute outside. Everybody wins. Start simple. A compact 7-hex base mounts cleanly on your wall. Then let it grow. Add hexes one module at a time as the colony expands. No rebuilds. No wasted parts. Just snap, mount, repeat. Why it’s fun: Watch real hive activity up close Scale the hive at the same pace as your bees Modular design that turns growth into a feature, not a problem It’s part science, part art, part “wait… there are bees in your house?” Support our pre-launch at https://makerworld.com/en/crowdfunding/108-hexabees-modular-indoor-outdoor-observation-hive

We are getting close to launching our crowdfunding project for @hexabees! This is a modular beehive that is easy to expand upon just by adding a new snap-in hexagon, to help your hive grow bigger as it expands. And, one of our stretch goals is the honey extractor that lets you take a little honey from the combs they've built, without disturbing the bees. We've got some cool rewards built, including a lifetime resale license for $75 (limited quantities) for printed files. #Crowdfunding Feature Our project is progressing through the Crowdfunding approval process. I hope to have it live soon, and when it does release, you'll be able to support our HexaBees indoor/outdoor beehive. It's completely modular; you can add on to the hive just by snapping a new module into place. Our stretch goals include an LED lighting system that is safe for bees but provides your hive with a nice glow, and a spigot to harvest small amounts of honey from your hive without disturbing the bees. Follow me for updates at @hexabees.

Easy to print, still printing more copies of it for my extensive collection of minifigs
