LudoTiles — Construction Panels Kids Can't Break (or Swallow) I had one rule designing LudoTiles: make something a child can throw, stack, knock down and rebuild a hundred times — and that a parent never has to worry about. Interlocking panels that snap together on every side, in three types: side, base and roof. Kids combine them into cubes, boxes and 3D structures — no glue, no tools. Want it taller? Reprint a few side panels and the build grows. Safety came first: rounded chamfered edges, sized so they can't be swallowed whole, and tough enough to survive the most "muscular" toddler. I've been working on something I'm pretty excited about: a set of interlocking building bricks that snap together into cubes, boxes, and even hollow storage containers, in whatever color combo you like. The interlocks were by far the hardest part. Getting the tolerances right, so the pieces hold together firmly but still come apart by hand, took a lot more trial and error than I expected. They finally lock together exactly how I wanted them to (you can see a few builds in the photos). I think they make a great kids' toy: no screws or glue, just big chunky pieces that press together, so you can build almost anything, take it apart, and start over. They're good for imaginative play and fine motor skills too. I'm entering them in the MakerWorld Children's Toy Design Contest, and the files are coming very soon.
