The purpose is to add as a support between the steel heavy light bar and the Jeep window frame and hard top.  Otherwise, the weight plus wind drag pushes the bar backwards; overstraining the (2) bolts only on each side holding the light bar on.  The can be used for many other options where a 20mm x 20mm boot-type overlay is needed.

I bought a NiLight wiring harness kit to allow for up to six (6) off-road lights (one harness) and needed a way to mount the three (3) supplied relays for multiple KC HiLites on my Jeep and this did the trick.  This mounts nicely on the firewall by the battery while allowing for easy install and removal of the relays as needed without disturbing the firewall thru-bolts.
